How can I tell if my child may be eligible?

You know your child best. If play, movement, talking, learning, or social connection seems different from other children the same age — or if there is a diagnosed condition that often leads to delay — a referral to EIP is appropriate. Concern is enough. You do not need a diagnosis in hand.

Eligibility itself can be determined only by state-approved evaluators under contract with your municipality. The evaluation looks at physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive development. Bright Milestones does not perform the official eligibility evaluation; we begin after authorization.

Children must be under 3 and reside in New York State. There is no income test for EIP. Insurance is not required.
